Backseat Observation is Free! - We believe that actual on-the-road, behind-the-wheel instruction is the best way to teach your child to drive. However, if you would like to schedule backseat observation time then please let your instructor know and we will accommodate.

There is a real difference between behind-the-wheel driving and
in-car instruction. Pitner Driving School, Inc. provides documentation
of behind-the-wheel driving dates and hours for each student. Since our inception in 1979, we have NEVER
SUBSTITUTEDback seat observation nor computer simulation
for actual driving time with a state certified instructor.
---We also believe that the only way to learn to drive on the streets is to actually practice on the streets! The Pitner Driving School white dual-control cars are the most recognized cars on
the streets of Memphis. We are on the streets teaching our students
to drive in the real world. We also do not just let them go back and forth on a
straight road. Our instructors customize their routes to suit drivers from beginner on up.
They maximize their time by practicing right turns, left turns at lights without
an arrow, and many, many lane changes. We even practice interstate driving if
the student is ready.

team of driving instructors has more than 150 years of industry
experience. Pitner Driving School, Inc. has proudly taught over
30,000 students which equates to over 180,000 hours of behind-the-wheel
driving instruction.
